More than 1 million sqm leased in 3 months

A record-breaking period on the Polish warehouse market. According to preliminary JLL data, as much as 1 million sqm of warehouse space was leased by companies in the third quarter of 2016, marking the best quarter in the history of the market. “The positive trend on the Polish warehouse and industrial market continues. When it comes to the amount of space leased, we have never seen such high numbers for a three-month period,” says Tomasz Olszewski, Head of Industrial CEE, JLL.

“The demand is massive, the amount of space leased in the third quarter suggests that developers can easily find tenants, and clients need more and more modern space,” says Tomasz Olszewski, JLL. “Additionally, there is a considerable interest from foreign investors, who are willing to start activities on the Polish market. The e-commerce industry is also growing at a high rate and thus generating large demand for logistics space,” explains Olszewski.

JLL data show that the gross demand in the first six months of 2016 amounted to 1,312,000 sqm. This current situation suggests that this year, the industrial and warehouse market is going to break records.

Outdoor lighting replacement completed in Segro’s logistics parks


Segro has finished replacing outdoor lighting in all its logistics parks in Poland. In total, over 3,500 modern LED luminaires have been installed in the facilities over six months, replacing the previously used lighting on façades, in car parks and around roads.

A joint project launched by MLP and J.W. Construction


J.W. Construction and MLP Group are opening a new logistics centre in Szczecin. The target surface area of the warehouse facilities within the planned MLP Szczecin park is 60,000 sqm.

New warehouses planned in the Warmia-Mazury SEZ


Companies which have been granted permits to operate in the Warmia-Mazury Special Economic Zone this year will invest PLN 1.67 billion there, the zone authorities report.
