A new investment project launched by Zalando and Goodman

This month, Zalando will begin the construction of an international logistics centre in Głuchów near Łódź. A facility with a surface area of 130,000 sqm will be built there.

Thanks to the new investment project, Zalando will be able to expand its logistics network to maintain high customer service standards in Europe, particularly in Poland, South-East Germany, and Austria. The centre will be operated by an external logistics service provider. Operational testing is scheduled to begin at the end of 2018.

“The site in Głuchów near Łódź has been chosen for several reasons. Its location in Central Poland, the availability of workforce, the well-developed infrastructure, and the proximity of the A1 and A2 motorways were all of crucial importance. Another important factor was the effective cooperation with local, regional and national authorities. The new facility will synergise with the existing logistics centre near Szczecin, providing an optimal solution that will significantly increase our capacity,” says Jan Bartels, VP Customer Fulfillment and Logistics, Zalando.

“We are proud that Zalando has once again chosen Goodman to develop its facility in Poland. We are a reliable partner with a wealth of experience in developing high-quality e-commerce warehouses,” says Maciej Madejak, Head of Business Development Poland, Goodman. Zalando’s other logistics centre in Poland is situated in Szczecin.
