Amazon’s logistics centre in Kołbaskowo has been opened Amazon has officially opened its logistics centre in Kołbaskowo near Szczecin. The facility was launched on 8 November 2017.

The air-conditioned warehouse building in Kołbaskowo has a surface area of about 150,000 sqm. The value of the investment project, which was completed within 10 months, is PLN 410 million. Amazon has decided to build its centre near Szczecin because of the nearby airport and motorway. The centre will be used to store and distribute small packages containing items such as books, toys, and compact electronics (no bigger than a kettle). In their everyday work, employees of the centre are supported by modern automation technology from Amazon Robotics.

The Kołbaskowo building is divided into three levels. The first and the second floors house the so-called robotics fields, whose purpose is collecting orders and arranging items on shelves. The ground floor contains packaging stations for items bought in the Amazon store.
